Teapot and cover

Teapot, hard-paste porcelain, inset base within a flattened-off foot-rim, tapering cylindrical body, plain beak spout, square-shouldered angular handle, domed cover with to the top a nipple-topped finial with a beaded edge; the exterior sides of the teapot and the top of the cover covered with a light brown ground in imitation of the grain of wood, against which is reserved to either side of the teapot an oval panels finely painted in black monochrome with miniature landscapes showing buildings on the banks of rivers, around the exterior lip-rim and spout of the teapot and the rim of the cover a running border of miniature forget-me-nots between two gilt lines, the handle picked out in gilt, a gilt edge to the rim of the cover, the top of the finial painted gilt, the beading painted green.
