Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Pink tie worn by Nick McNeill, Chair of the South Wales Gay Men's Chorus for many years, and a member since they formed in 2008. Shirt, waiscoat and tie (F2021.73.2-4) are the uniform worn by South Wales Gay Men's Chorus from about 2008, and similar to the uniform worn today.

The South Wales Gay Men's Chorus was formed in February 2008, and has members from across south Wales. The forty strong chorus choir sing everything from traditional male voice choir pieces, to show tunes and modern classics.

Pink 100% Polyester satin tie. Black lining has a pattern weave of a 'D&T' logo that repeats at 90°. The tie is 'pre-tied', i.e. it doesn't drape around the neck, but clips onto the centre front of the collar of the shirt instead. The clip consists of black-coated metal and black plastic. A white woven label is attached on the reverse bearing the 'D&T' logo. The shorter/narrower end of the tie is threaded through a loop of self-fabric. A black woven care label is machine sewn to the end of the narrow length.
