North Sands type vessel built 1943 by West Coast Shipbuilders Ltd., Vancouver (engine by Dominion Engineering Works Ltd., Montreal), for MoWT, managed by Hall Bros., London. 1949 – Transferred to the Ministry of Transport, managed by Dalhousie Steam & Motor Ship Co., London. 1951 – Sold to Tavistock Shipping Co., London, and renamed TAVISTOCK, managed by Purvis Shipping Co. 1952 – Sold to Island Shipping Co., London, and renamed SOUTHWICK, managed by Ivanovic & Co. 1956 – Sold to T & J Brocklebank Ltd., Liverpool, and renamed MAHSUD. 1961 – Sold to Grand Shipping Co Ltd., Hong Kong, and renamed MARINE TRAVELLER. 1962 – Sold to The Herald Shipping Co Ltd., Hong Kong, and renamed BANDHARA. 1964 – Renamed OTONE (same owner). She was broken up at Hirao in 1966. (Mariners List Fort ships)
