Cup and saucer, trembleuse

Cup, hard-paste porcelain, short foot-rim, high sides and plain loop handle; to the front of the body the entwinned monogram 'MS' in gilt, enclosed by a circular gilt band and a laurel wreath in green enamel, scattered gilt sprigs around the rest of the sides, a gilt waved border and gilt edegs to the lip-rim, the handle picked out in gilt. Trembleuse saucer, hard-paste porcelain, short foot-rim and curving sides, around the well a raised cup guard with an ornamental pierced design; scattered gilt sprigs to the sides of the well, a gilt waved border and gilt edge to the lip-rim, the cup-guard picked out in gilt.
