Tray, hard paste porcelain, rectangular, unglazed underside, ten notched sides. Densely decorated in the Satsuma style; three large overlapping reserves; centre- showing three ladies, one putting a flower in the hair of another, overlooking a wooded prospect; upper right - men and women promenading in landscape; lower left - ladies in a mountainous garden. Further smaller reserves of figures promenading by a river bank, lady with a crane, tea drinking, birds etc. Brocade ground painted with flower heads, gilt beads and a gilt lattice pattern; border of segments of variously coloured mons, scales, rice pattern etc.
