Gold pocket watch awarded to Mr Albert Gubb due to his heroic rescue of a workmate (two others were killed) trapped beneath a roof fall at Cribbwr Colliery, Kenfig Hill in 1926. Watch was presented at the Dunraven Hotel, Bridgend on Saturday 10 January 1927 by Mr Vernon Hartshorn, M.P. on behalf of the Carnegie Hero Trust Fund.

18 ct gold pocket watch hallmarked Birmingham 1919. Swiss made movement with 16 jewels, 4 adjustments and 4 settings. Movement hidden by a hinged cover with engraved inscription which is in turn protected by another hinged cover. The watch face is white enamel with black roman numeral number with second hand set seperately within face. Face is protected by a hinged cover with monogram engraving. All three covers are stamped with serial number '190082'.
