¾ Starboard bow view of S.S. BIRMINGHAM CITY entering Cardiff Docks.

Built 1946 as BASKERVILLE by J.Readhead & Sons Ltd., South Shields. 1950 – Sold to Bristol City Line and renamed BIRMINGHAM CITY, managed by Charles Hill & Son, Bristol. 1963 – Sold to Kinabatangan Shipping Company, Hong Kong, managed by United China Shipping Co Ltd., and renamed SEMPORNA BAY but still registered at Bristol. 1965 – Renamed VICTORIA BAY (same owner). On 20th June 1969, she ran aground while outward bound from Chittagong. She was refloated on the 6th July, but was deemed a total constructive loss, and was sold to a Hong Kong breakers for breaking up. (ref: - TyneBuiltShips.co.uk)
