Cup, coffee and saucer

Cup, hard-paste porcelain, inset base within a flattened-off foot-rim, slightly tapering cylindrical sides, square-shouldered angular handle; the exterior sides of the cup covered with a light brown ground in imitation of the grain of wood, against which is reserved to the front of the cup an oval panel finely painted in black monochrome with a miniature landscape showing buildings on the banks of a river, around the exterior lip-rim of the cup a running border of miniature forget-me-nots between two gilt lines, the handle picked out in gilt. Saucer, hard-paste porcelain, inset base within a flattened-off foot-rim, flaing sides; the upperside of the saucer covered with a light brown ground in imitation of the grain of wood, against which is reserved to the centre of the well an oval panel finely painted in black monochrome with a miniature landscape showing a warehouse and a ship on a river, around the rim a running border of miniature forget-me-nots between two gilt lines.
