S.S. FORT CUMBERLAND (7123gt). North Sands type, built 1943 by Burrard Dry Dock Co., North Vancouver (engines by Allis-Chalmers) for MoWT, managed by Lyle Shipping Co. 1950 – Sold to Lyle Shipping Co., Glasgow, and renamed CAPE FRANKLIN. 1956 – Sold to West Africa Navigation Company, Monrovia, and renamed AFRICA SKY. 1960 – Acquired by General Navigation Ltd., of Monrovia (name retained). She was broken up at Yokosaka in 1966. (There was also a T2-SE-A1 tanker (machinery aft) named FORT CUMBERLAND – built in 1944).
