Colliery Manager, Gary Pugh, speaks about the need to increase coal production at the colliery following an investment to work a new 'heavy duty shield face' using new technology. Mr Pugh explains that colliery needs to produce clean coal that is consistently cut and he says that production target for the colliery for the next twelve months is to produce 500,000 tonnes of coal i.e. two and a half tonnes of coal per man.
