Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Drawing Study 3

SETCH, Terry (b. 1936)

Terry Setch lives in Penarth and draws inspiration from his surroundings, frequently using the local shoreline as the subject for his artwork.

In 1993 the Museum commissioned Setch to paint a three-panel view of Cardiff Bay for the new restaurant. He produced a series of studies in preparation, including this work.

The artist’s annotations show how he was mapping out the geography of the Bay, while also sketching out and planning the finished piece.
