Sucrier with cover

Sucrier and cover, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain; standing on a straight sided foot rim, indented above; cylindrical tapering sides to shoulder, concave curve from shoulder to lip; handles in the form of lion masks with moulded rings through the mouths; raised, flat topped cover with pineapple finial; transfer printed in underglaze blue with the so-called 'Elephant pattern' - a Chinoiserie landscape with a willow tree, fretwork fence surrounding a garden containing two intricately shaped shrubs; the underglaze blue print outlined and detailed in gilt; plain gilt bands to foot rim and lip.
