Bronze Age Gold from Wales

1914-15 Star

The decoration is a four-pointed star in bright bronze with pair of crossed swords around centre scroll bearing words '1914-15' surmounted by a circle of oak leaves with cypher of George V on lowest point. The whole is surmounted by King's crown at highest point with hoop suspension for the ribbon (red, white and blue silk, shaded and watered. It is worn with the red nearest the centre of the chest. When the ribbon alone is worn possession of the clasp is indicated by a small silver rose affixed to the ribbon). The reverse is plain, but is stamped with the name and unit of the recipient. Mounted on a bar.
