Hansen, Leslie W. (Photographer)

Starboard broadside view of S.S. INDIAN SHIPPER at Cardiff Docks. Also seen is coaster MORAY FIRTH.

The 567 gross ton steam coaster Moray Firth was owned by G. T. Gillie & Blairs of Newcastle, a firm originally established by G. T. Gillie in 1911. The Moray Firth was sold to the Aberdeen Coal & Shipping Co. Ltd. in 1959, and was eventually broken up at Dunston in March 1972. G. T. Gillie & Blair still manage coasters for a number of coasting and short-sea trade companies. Source: Shipping at Cardiff: Photographs from the Hansen Collection 1920-1975 by David Jenkins, 1993.
