FORT FRONTENAC(2) (7148gt) : North Sands type cargo vessel built September 1943 by Marine Industries Ltd., Sorel, Quebec for MoWT (managed by J & C Harrison Ltd., London – South American Saint Line from 1946 on). 1950 – Acquired by Laurentian Marine Co., Montreal and renamed LAURENTIAN VALLEY. 1957 – Sold to Corona Cia. Nav., Panama (registered at Monrovia), and renamed AEGEAN SEA. 1958 – Sold to “Uzeda” Soc. di Nav. S.p.A., Catania, Italy and renamed ACHILLE She was broken up at La Spezia in 1968. (The vessel originally intended as “FORT FRONTENAC” was launched as FORT ROYAL PARK by Marine Industries Ltd., Sorel, in October 1942).
