View of Gyrnos limestone quarry with Morlais Castle in the distance. Gyrnos Quarry in Cwm Taf Fechan supplied Cyfarthfa Iron Works with limestone for fluxing furnaces and for building. Seen from the south west when the works are quarries were idle, indicating that this was taken during one of the strikes and periods of closure in the 1870s.
