Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Dish, mixed or duck egg paste with slight green translucency, rounded oblong shape with tapering foot-rim and shallow rounded sides; decorated with a central panel of Imari style flowers and foliage with gilt detailing and salmon pink foreground within a border of wheat husks in gilt interspersed with gilded flower heads, all on a narrow band of dark underglaze blue; the cavetto reserved with three ovals containing bouquets of flowers, including pink roses on a white ground, these surrounded by iron red, white and gilded stylised chrysanthemum heads interspersed with gilt foliage and scrolls, all on a dark blue ground with gilt banding to outer rim.
