Horse drawn tram on Newport Road, Cardiff, about 1890. The Royal Oak - Newport Road - Pier head service. The conductor is John William Bendall, aged 16 and the driver is G. Pyke. The photograph marked the opening of the new service from the Royal Oak, Newport Road to the Pierhead, Cardiff Docks.
