Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Plate, earthenware with greyish glaze, inset base and cushion-moulded profile, the rim with eight, evenly spaced lobes; the plate tranfer-printed under the glaze in manganese purple, the upper face of the plate is covered with a ground pattern of small, unevenly spaced dots, at the centre of the well is a group of stylised marine shells and plants bordered with a thick circle between two fine line circles, around the well are a variety of simple shells with stylised, trailing algae or marine plants between, on the flange is a similar arrangement of shells and marine plants, the edge of the rim embellished with a solid line.
