Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Basket and cover, bone china, circular body with a flared rim that is pierced and has a scalloped edge, indented base, the handle loops over the top of the basket, flat pierced cover with a flattened finial; the rim and base are banded with a wide gold border and a moulded beaded border between which is a border of flowers, the handle is gilded, the cover is decorated with a green ground overpainted with gold leaf sprigs and with gold borders around the rim; pierced holes and the finial, the finial is decorated with a moulded bead border and painted with a gold bead border and a rose.
