Slate wagon

An iron and steel slate wagon, built by LNWR company for Blaenau Ffestiniog slate traffic. Iron side rails; originally with iron floor; some side rails replaced by museum staff. Single flanged wheels, running in white metal bearings. Hinged grease-box flaps. Curved wheel spokes. Complete with coupling links. Narrow gauge, used in several quarries in the Blaenau Ffestiniog area linked to the narrow gauge systems, 1885 to late 1970's.
