Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Pot, chocolate

Chocolate pot, hard-paste porcelain, cylindrical body, curving shoulder and short neck, curving spout with moulded foliage to the underside, to one side of the body, at rightangles to the spout, a handle at a slight angle above the horizontal, the lower part of the handle in porcelain, the upper part in turned wood with a bone acorn to the tip; to one side of the body a finely painted landscape in polychrome enamels featuring architectectural ruins and two small figures, scattered floral sprigs around the rest of the body, the spout and handle picked out in puce and gilt.
