Furnace man's safety spectacles

Steelworker's blue spectacles with string attached to frame. String has also been wound round nose piece (this was to protect the face as the metal frame could get very hot). Used by furnace men to look into open hearth furnace at Pontardawe. With home made protective case (2011.65/15).
