Albert Medal, Land, Second Class (No. 16). Bronze Albert Medal, oval shape, centre 'A' inverted by 'V' s surrounded by a garter in which 'FOR GALLANTRY IN SAVING LIFE ON LAND' surmounted by a queen's crown; loop suspension with a crimson and white silk ribbon.
Presented to Edmund Thomas for saving life at the Tynewydd Colliery, April 1877.
