Owned by John Gunn, a Scotsman who operated a number of pleasure steamers from Cardiff from 1895 until 1899. There was fierce competition between the vessels operated by Gunn and P.& A. Campbell (including the occasional race!) but Campbell's succeeded in forcing Gunn out of business by 1899, eventually buying the Lorna Doone and the Scotia in the process.
