Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Mallet

A small wooden mallet (Gordd y wal / Rhys Bach) used to split slate blocks into roofing slates, used with a cold chisel (cyn manhollt). The mallet is made from ‘African Oak’ and has two iron circles at either end.
