Teapot and cover

Teapot, hard-paste porcelain, inset base, cylindrical body, flat shoulder, short cylindrical neck, curving eight-sided spout, ear-shaped handle, round domed cover with to the centre a button finial and a pierced steam hole to one side; finely painted in polychrome enamels and gilt with around the exterior upper body of the teapot and the top of the cover a border of repeating floral sprigs in purple and green enamels and feathery gilt ornament, around the lower body of the teapot scattered floral and foliate sprigs in blue and green enamels and in gilt, a band of gilt dots around the centre of the exterior body of the teapot, a feathery gilt border around the shoulder of the teapot, gilt lines around the foot-rim, shoulder and neck of the teapot and around the rim of the cover, the spout and handle picked out in gilt, the top of the finial painted in gilt.
