Teapot and cover

Teapot, hard-paste porcelain, globular body tapering to the base, curving spout, elaborate scrolled handle, flat cover with the remains of a flower finial; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the body and cover a criss-cross pattern of floral festoons tied by purple ribbons and with two exotic birds perched amongst them, gilt lines around the upper rim of the teapot and the rim of the cover, the spout and handle picked out in puce and gilt.
