Cover, hard-paste porcelain, round domed form with around the edge a raised moulded border of rectangular panels, alternate panels contain raised classical looking scrolls, to the top of the cover a finial in the form of an apple with stem and leaves; finely painted in polychrome enamels with a small landscape with a bird, and a number of scattered insects, each alternate plain panel of the moulded border contains an insect, the apple finial painted in orange, yellow and green enamels, a very worn gilf line around the rim.
