Royal Navy, anti-flash hood

White cotton Anti-flash hood with elasticated section around hole for goggles and netting for lower face section with a cotton pocket near bottom of hood at front with makers label inside at back reading "Hoods Anti Flash Bleached W&S Ltd CT4A/596 black print on white cotton.

H.M.S. GLAMORGAN. County-class destroyer laid down September 1962 and launched 1964 by Vickers-Armstrong, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Commissioned by the Royal Navy in October 1966. She underwent a major arms refit in 1977-79 including construction of accomodation for her on-board Wessex helicopter. SHe had another refit in 1982 following damage sustained by the enemy in the Falklands War. 1986 – Decommissioned, and sold to the Chilean Navy and renamed ALMIRANTE LATORRE, where she served until 1998. She was sold for scrap in 2005 and sank at sea while under tow to be broken up.
