Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Late Bronze Age harness fitting

Winged, with terminal discs containing concentric circles on the wings. The wings are hollow and open at the top, along the edge of which there are two holes on each side; the central indentation is closed, with an open slot below. One face is well finished with raised edges and a curved rib running the length of the item linking the discs at either end. The other face is less well finished and has no raised edges.

Notes: found in a small area on the east side of Llyn Fawr lying in peat on the bed of the lake, which was at that time being cleared to facilitate the completion of a reservoir
