Cup and saucer

Cup, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a cylindrical slightly flaring foot-rim, rounded curving sides, plain loop handle; finely painted in polychrome enamels and gilt with around the exterior upper body a border of repeating floral sprigs in purple and green enamels and feathery gilt ornament, a band of gilt dots around the centre of the exterior body, gilt lines around the foot-rim and lip-rim, the handle picked out in gilt. A narrow crack to one side of the body of the cup, the foot-rim chipped. Saucer, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a rounded waisted foot-rim, rounded curving sides; finely painted in polychrome enamels and gilt with around the sides of the well a border of repeating floral sprigs in purple and green enamels and feathery gilt ornament, to the centre of the well scattered floral sprigs in blue and green enamels and foliate sprigs in gilt which now completely worn off, a very worn band of gilt dots around the edge of the well, a gilt edge to the rim. The rim of the saucer chipped.
