Bronze Age Gold from Wales
Patch box and lid
Rectangular with detachable fitted lid. Dark brown tortoiseshell japan to all external surfaces including the base. Exterior of lid is decorated with a chinese landscape and flowers in gold effect, orange and red. The underside of lid is inscribed in gold. The interior is japanned black.
Inscribed 'J:O/Tythyn-y-Garreg/1772'.
