Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Roman copper alloy knee brooch

An ovoid plate rises above the bow, behind it projects two pierced lugs which support the axial bar of the sprung pin. The bow projects sharply forwards to the 'knee', which is slightly facetted, it then tapers, facetted, to a narrow ankle above a flared foot. The spring consists of a single coil on each side of the pin with an internal chord.
