Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Metal Box factory, photograph

Studio Cole Limited (Photographer)

Worker measuring thickness of scrolled tinplate sheet at The Metal Box Company, Neath. Photographer's stamp on the back. The scroll shape was for the presses after it had been cut into strips with a scroll shears in the press department (Open Top). Workers would 'whip' a sheet out of the coil cut up line as it came from the shears to measure it as the photo shows.
