Launched as EMMA LAZARUS, but completed as SAMARA in 1943 by Bethlehem-Fairfield Shipyards Inc., Baltimore, Maryland (engine by General Machinery Corp., Hamilton, Ohio), for MoWT, managed by Ellerman & Bucknall Steamship Co., London. 1943 – Renamed SAMSHIRE (same managers). 1947 – Sold to Ellerman Lines Ltd, London, and renamed CITY OF DONCASTER, managed by Ellerman & Bucknall. 1951 – Management transferred to City Line Ltd., Glasgow (same name). 1961 – Sold to Trader Line Ltd., Bermuda (British flag), and renamed PEMBROKE TRADER, managed by Moller Line Ltd., London. 1966 – Sold to Doreen Steamship Corp, Panama (Liberian flag) and renamed GALLETTA, managed by Fuji Marden & Co., Hong Kong. She was driven ashore by strong winds at Chaina on 10th April 1970. She was refloated, but was broken up at Hong Kong later that year. (mariners-l/LibShipsS)
