Cup, coffee and saucer

Coffee cup, soaprock porcelain, half-fluted form with short foot-rim, high cuving sides with fluting around the upper sides and a shaped edge to the lip-rim, moulded loop handle; transfer-printed in underglaze blue with around the exterior sides the 'Pagoda' pattern, an oriental-style pattern with pagodas on an island and a bridge with figures, around the interior lip-rim a 'Fitzhugh-type' border of interlinked cell motifs, scale patterns and flowers, a further border below this in gilt of cell motifs between two plain bands, gilt lines around the foot-rim and lip-rim, the handle picked out in gilt. Saucer, soaprock porcelain, half-fluted form with short foot-rim, curving sides and a shaped edge to the rim; transfered printed in underglaze blue with to the well the 'Pagoda' pattern, an oriental-style pattern with pagodas on an island and a bridge with figures, around the sides of the well a 'Fitzhugh-type' border of interlinked cell motifs, scale patterns and flowers, a further border below this in gilt of cell motifs between two plain bands, a gilt line around the edge of the well.
