Cup, tea and saucer

Teacup and saucer, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain; cup standing on a foot rim, London shape, and ogee handle; saucer standing on a rounded foot rim, with spreading sides; both painted with set pattern 237; a dark underglaze blue and gilt border with emerging pale underglaze blue gilded loops, inside cup and saucer lip, bordered by two plain gilt bands; small gilt sprigs on the exterior of the cup and towards the centre of the saucer; a plain gilt band to the cup's foot rim, and gilt foliate decoration on the handle.
