DEVIS, Anthony (1729-1816)

Two men are using a wooden box trap to catch rabbits in the sand dunes near the once flourishing port of Newton, Glamorganshire. Born at Preston, the step-brother of the portraitist Arthur Devis, the artist worked as a topographical painter, primarily in watercolour.
