Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Crow bar

A crowbar used to lever and move block of slate after being blasted form the rock face. Use by a rock man (creigiwr).

In Welsh a crowbar is known as a ‘trosol’ in the slate quarrying areas of Dyffryn Nantlle and Blaenau Ffestiniog, and as a ‘wif’ in the Dyffryn Peris area.
