Circular plate in hard-paste porcelain with shallow cushion-moulded sides, wide everted flange with plain rim and bevelled foot-ring; decorated on the interior in famille rose enamels with a central medallion scene of the judgement of Paris, who is seated to the left in a dark pink robe, he hands a golden apple to Venus, who stands between Juno to her left and Mercury to her right, a band of gilt foliate scrollwork around the rim.

This plate was made in China for the European market. It is painted with a scene depicting the judgement of Paris.
