Bronze Age Gold from Wales

The stack rock

Probably 'The Stack Rock near Stackpole, coast of Pembrokeshire' shown at the Royal Academy in 1793. Stack Rock is in the distance and Star Rock is to the right. The men are hauling in a seine-net, designed to hang vertically in the water so that the ends can be drawn together to catch the fish. The painter stayed with John Campbell, later Lord Cawdor, at Stackpole Court during his tour of Wales in 1792.
