Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Roman copper alloy T shaped brooch

T-shaped brooch, hinged. Upper bow forms a decorative panel with three rectangular recesses for enamel. The top and bottom of these still contain traces of blue (verified by XRF) but nothing survives in the middle cell to indicate the colour of its enamel. Below the panel is a vertically grooved knob defined by transverse depressions. The lower bow tapers towards the foot and is decorated by a notched longitudinal rib down its centre. Solid ‘chain loop’.
