Bronze Age Gold from Wales

T shirt

Black t-shirt with gold print showing the Scales of Justice in form of two women. Letters OLGA on right sleeve stands for the Older Lesbian and Gay Association, a South African organisation. Worn at a Pride march in Johannesburg in 1991, and worn later in Wales to highlight the position of lesbians and gay men in South Africa.

"A slight subversion - the scales of justice are two women so that this again was seen as a symbol representing two women, women together bringing about freedom and justice within the world". Sheryl Checuti, referring to this t-shirt in an oral history interview with Mark Etheridge, 3 February 2020.

Tubular weave, no side seams.
