Plaque

Plaque in memory of Penallta men who died during the 1984 strike. Terence Leaves and James Jones were killed in a traffic accident while picketing. Michael Rice was killed while undertaking essential safety work sanctioned by the N.U.M. underground in Penallta Colliery during the strike. The plaque was commissioned by Rhymney Valley Womens’ Support Group who asked for it to go on display at Big Pit. Brass plaque mounted on wood.
