Sucrier with cover

Sucrier, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, bulbous body, round domed cover with to the top a finial modelled in the form of a flower with a stem and leaves; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to one side of the exterior body of the sucrier and to the top of the cover two views of birds, one showing a bird crouched near water, the other showing a bird diving towards a patch of ground, around the rest of the exterior sides of the sucrier and the top of the cover are scattered floral sprigs, a gilt band around the lower body of the sucrier, a gilt dentil edge to the exterior lip-rim of the sucrier and to the rim of the cover, the gilt slightly worn to the rim of the cover, the flower finial picked out in gilt.
