Glyn Pits showing steel headgear of post-1932 date used to access and service submersible electric pumps in the upcast (western) shaft which drained Hafodyrynys Mine until that mine closed in 1966, after which date Glyn Pits site was abandoned. Viewed from west south west. The south wall of the pumping and winding engine house of 1845 is on the left, and the west end of the winding engine house of (1852-1865) is in the distance, with its boiler stack beyond.
