Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Plate, soft-paste porcelain; standing on a foot rim curving into flared spreading sides; painted in the centre with a scallop-edged circular panel of a Chinoiserie style scene of a small pavilion, balustrade and a vase of flowers, in underglaze blue, iron red, and gilt, with blue, green and red flowering plants; a pale red border with sgraffito white scrolls, and four reserves, two with a butterly and two with a stylised red flower head; narrow border to the cavetto of alternating red flowers on a white ground, and on a red patterned ground; edge with a border of trailing red flowers with green foliage with goldfish, between four underglaze blue and gilt oval rosettes; underglaze blue and gilt lip.
