Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Badge 'Gay News Fights On!' worn by Mike Ashdown who was involved with the Cardiff Campaign for Homosexual Equality throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, initially as Group Secretary, then from about 1974 to 1977 as Convenor. This badge was produced to support the Gay News newspaper during a private prosecution (initiated by Mary Whitehouse) blasphemy trial. Cardiff Campaign for Homosexual Equality organised several fundraising events to help fund the legal costs in defence.
