Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Roman copper alloy knee brooch

A semi-circular plate rises above the bow of the brooch; at its lower straight edge it houses the cylindrical tower for the pivot of the hinged pin. The bow projects sharply forward to the 'knee' which is facetted, it then tapers to the slightly projecting foot.

Catchplate is damaged and most of the pin is missing.
